How to Buy a Used Washer and Dryer in Austin: Complete Guide

Why Buy a Used Washer and Dryer in Austin?

Shopping for a washer and dryer set doesn't have to break the bank. In the Austin metro area, buying a quality used or refurbished washer and dryer is one of the smartest moves you can make — especially with new appliance prices climbing past $1,500 for a basic set.

At Longhorn Washer and Dryer in Hutto, TX, we specialize in professionally inspected, cleaned, and tested used washers and dryers from top brands like Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, and Maytag — all at a fraction of retail cost.

What to Look for When Buying a Used Washer and Dryer

1. Check the Brand and Model

Stick with proven brands known for durability. Our most popular brands include Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, Kenmore, and Maytag.

2. Ask About Testing and Inspection

At Longhorn Washer and Dryer, every set goes through a multi-point inspection: we check all wash cycles, spin speeds, water temperatures, dryer heat levels, and electrical connections.

3. Look for a Guarantee

We include a repair-only guarantee on every washer and dryer set we sell — a full year on top-load washers, all dryers, and top-load sets, and 60 days on any front-load washer or any set that includes one, free with our $150 professional install.

4. Consider Delivery and Installation

We offer free delivery within 20 miles of our Hutto shop (same-day when you order before 8:30 AM), plus professional installation for just $150.

Used vs. New: How Much Can You Save?

A brand-new set costs $1,200 to $2,000+. A comparable used set from Longhorn Washer and Dryer runs $400 to $800 for the pair — saving you 50-70%.
