1-Year Protection Plan • Care Guide

Keep Your Washer & Dryer Running Like New

A few easy habits keep your set quiet, efficient, and trouble-free — and keep your protection plan hassle-free.

#1 RULE Empty the lint trap every single load

Washer Care

Front-Load Owners

Clean the drain pump filter monthly. It's the small hatch at the bottom front of the washer. Trapped lint, coins, and grime collect there and cause won't-drain and won't-spin problems.

Go easy on fabric softener

It builds up, gums up the dispenser, and leaves residue on clothes and the drum. Skip it when you can.

Use less detergent — HE only

Use less than you think. Too much soap causes residue, odor, and buildup.

Don't overload — empty pockets first

Give clothes room to move. Stray coins and clips can jam the pump and tear the seal.

Inspect your fill hoses

Check yearly for bulges, cracks, or leaks. Braided steel hoses are worth it — a burst hose floods a home.

Leave the door open

Air it out between loads to stop mildew, mold on the seal, and musty smells.

Wipe the seal & run a tub clean

Monthly: wipe the rubber gasket and run a hot clean cycle to clear soap and grime.

Dryer Care

Have your vent line cleaned yearly

A clogged vent makes the dryer overheat and quit — the #1 service call we get.

Don't overload it

Clothes need room to tumble. A packed drum won't dry evenly and overworks the heater.

Skip the dryer sheets

They coat the lint screen and moisture sensor. Wash the screen with water now and then.

Give it breathing room

Don't shove it tight to the wall and crush the vent hose. Airflow is everything.

Wipe the moisture sensor

Those metal bars inside the drum read dryness. A quick wipe keeps cycles ending on time.
